What More Could I Want?

Jesus has just taught the disciples how to pray and he proceeds to teach them about "how to be expectant" and "what to expect". As he finishes His words, "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you....", I must admit I start thinking about some of the things I need in life. I think about how God loves me, in spite of me, and how He wants to give me good things. Then, Jesus finishes with this statement in Luke 11.11"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?…See More

For all the devoted Peter's among us

This morning these verses from Luke 9 seemed worth considering.

33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

Smile, God Loves You

Not sure smile is the right response...there, on the cross, He made His statement of love to you. You know that awkward moment when one person says to another, "I love you," followed by silence?

Provision

I won't guess how many times I have read Luke 8 before but I should not have missed something.

1After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, 2and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; 3Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod's household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to… Continue

Some Stuff To Do

It is hard to let go. I have this "holding on thing" in me. As I scurry about trying to hold on to what little I have left I realize I should be figuring out how to get rid of it. "It" is what holds me back. "It" is the very thing that keeps me from following the One I say I love so much.

Love for Enemies - LUKE 6

27"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29If someone strikes you… Continue
